US & British Virgin Islands
November - July

The US and British Virgin Islands are an idyllic group of islands located East of Puerto Rico and West of the Windward Island chain of the Caribbean. During the winter months the wind is a consistent 15kn-20kn out of the East and, due to the geography of the Islands, the ocean swells are kept down. The water is consistently warm and crystal clear, offering great snorkeling and beautiful pictures.

The distance between islands is large enough to give the sailors in the group some thrills but close enough to not have to stress about a schedule. This location offers world class sailing as well as excellent scuba and snorkel destinations. Each island is unique and offers something different so this is a destination that you can vacation at for years and not get bored. Our captains have traveled extensively throughout the US and BVI and have a lot of local knowledge to add to your itinerary planning.

Windward Caribbean Islands
November - July

Since this is a very large area encompassing many island nations from St. Martin to Grenada we have broken it into three groups from North to South. Within each subdivision we have an established starting point and can do one way trips starting and ending in different places or we can return to the starting point at the end of the charter.

The North: St. Martin, St. Barts, Anguilla, Saba, and St. Kits & Nevis.
The Northern Islands are around a half day sail apart and offer a range of things to do and see. St. Martin is half Dutch and half French and is our starting point for this area of the windward islands. From there we can travel to the peace and tranquility of Anguilla, the glitz and glamour of St. Barts, the world class diving of Saba, or lush and green hikes of St. Kitts.

The Middle: Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, and St. Lucia
The middle islands are a little further apart then the northern islands and a dominated by French speaking countries. The yearly Antigua Classics is a yacht race in Antigua that features classic yachts and it is something to be seen. Also in this grouping is Captain Sam's favourite island Dominica, one of the filming locations for the movie Pirates of the Caribbean, and in his opinion the most beautiful Caribbean island.

The South: St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenada
The southern islands are mostly comprised of the Grenadines, a chain of many small islands, with St. Vincent as the capital. These islands are fairly undeveloped and possesses an untouched beauty the highlight being the Tobago Cays, a barrier reef island network known for fabulous snorkeling and diving. Sailing between these islands gives the experience of open ocean sailing as you sail in open water from one protected harbour to the next. The annual blues festival on the private island of Mystique is a must see as well as the historic whaling town on Bequia.

(N.B. Travel between all of these separate island nations requires a passport.)

Cape Cod and the Islands
July - November

For the summer months S/V Zenaida, our mono-hull, makes the trip from the Caribbean to New England and is available to be chartered both for the offshore sail and while she cruises Cape Cod and the Islands. The offshore passage is not like our captain and crewed charters and you will be expected to hold a watch and assist in the sail, however it is an amazing trip for people looking for some offshore sailing experience or need time on the water to pursue a captain's license.

Once in New England S/V Zenaida is based in Edgartown Harbour on famous Martha's Vineyard Island and is available as a Boat and Breakfast, a day charter to explore the beaches of Martha's Vineyard, or a weekend live-a-board to visit the mainland and the island of Nantucket. Unlike the Disney Land sailing of the Caribbean, sailing in New England has the charm of changing weather and the challenges of tides and fog. In Captain Sam's opinion this is "real" sailing and should be enjoyed and experienced by sailor and non-sailor alike.
